Here you see our first, and hopefully not lost, animatronic diorama fashioned by our very own le' Gume Gume Shume.
These wild oliphantosaurus' are partaking in a ritual burning of the 5-leafed herbal supplement known as "cereal".
They have used the volcano and a troglodyte to get everything lit and are now in a heap of giggles that shakes the land. It is thought they do this often to keep the plants growing and the animals fed. It is very important that they stay well herbed.
What a cheerful bunch!

From a bottle.

Very dark brown pouring beer. When pouring the carbonation was rising in the glass nicely to form a less than a 1 finger tan head. The head retention was fairly poor overall, and there's no lacing on the glass.
When pouring the beer, I was just hit with a ton of bourbon barrel notes that were quite pleasing. Up close I just get so much dark fruit notes - raisin, plum, dates. I get notes of caramel, and toffee. There's one thing I'm really not getting and that is smoke. The bottle says it's a smoked wee heavy, and I'm surprised I'm not getting it in the aroma.
Taste - Oh, wow! There's so much going on here, and it is hard to describe it all well. I get a peat like flavor starting this beer off. I get lots of caramel and toffee toward the front, that are combined with bourbon notes. The middle is more of the dark fruit, with pleasing raisin and plum. The back is where the pleasing flavor of smoke pops in, and pops in are the right words for this flavor profile. It reminds me of a pleasing bonfire, but not overpowering.
The body is quite pleasing. There's a slight bubbly feeling in this beer, right away, that hits the back of my throat. Smooth body, but there's just a faint warming on the backside to let you know to take this beer slow.
I am a fan of this style, and I'd say that this is a well made beer of the style. Just hits the mark well.
