12 ounce can into tulip glass, canned on 6/27/2017. Pours fairly hazy pale golden/yellow color with a 1-2 finger fairly foamy and fluffy white head with good retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation retaining the cap. Aromas of lemon, orange zest, peach, pear, pineapple, melon, red apple, peppercorn, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, wood, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Nice and pleasant aromas with good balance and complexity of fruity/spicy yeast, peppercorns, bready malt, and light earthy hop notes; with solid strength. Taste of lemon, orange zest, peach, pear, pineapple, melon, red apple, peppercorn, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, wood, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate peppery yeast spice and light herbal/woody/grassy bitterness on the finish. Lingering notes of lemon, orange zest, peach, pear, pineapple, melon, red apple, peppercorn, wheat, cracker, biscuit, herbal, wood, floral, grass, and yeast earthiness for a good bit. Very nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, peppercorns, bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; with a great malt/bitter/spiciness balance, and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Light dryness from bitter/spiciness and carbonation, increasing through the glass. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately crisp, bready/grainy, and lightly sticky balanced mouthfeel that is great. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5.2%. Overall this is a delicious saison. All around nice complexity, robustness, and balance of fruity/spicy yeast, peppercorns, bready malt, and light earthy hop flavors; very smooth, crisp, and refreshing to drink. Nice yeast complexity and malt/spice presence; with great balance. Nice body/mouthfeel from the spelt/wheat malts. Very flavorful and never watery feeling for the ABV. A very enjoyable offering, and spot on style example.

From the 12 oz can in a snifter. This 3rd anniversary ale collaboration with Fifty West
Brewing Company pours a lightly hazy pale straw color with a nice head of white foam that
settles to a thin ring, thin light pool, and showcases some nice light lacing. Nose of light pepper,
earthy farmhouse funk, light grassy hops, and subtle cracker notes mixed with yeasty esters.
Flavors follow the nose with earthy funky yeast vying for dominance over light white pepper
notes (pink pepper corns by description) and lemon zest that dashes against light grain notes
and light honey notes rounded out by cracker flavors. Nice mouth feel; medium light body,
low carbonation, and a lightly subtly dry finish yet a touch watery on the back end.
Overall a decent saison that stays in the boundaries of the style,
