Notes taken from 04/02/2015
A: The Last Call IPA pours a light honey blonde color with some nice clarity through the body. A half finger width of paper white foam settles across the top. Fair hang time to it with some nice broken tracks of lace decorating the glass on the drink down.
S: Smells very green and packed with fresh fruity hops. Tropic and herbal with catty melon and gooseberry mostly. Zest in some grapefruit as well. Picking up a touch of malt which is like dry soda cracker and the slightest hint of caramel candy. Really nice and fresh green hops in the nose here.
T: The flavors really pop with some nice hoppy jabs to the palate. All catty herbals with tropical fruits, gooseberry, grapefruit, and musky melon fruit. Must be some Simcoe or Mosaic up in here. I get a little malt cracker with a dash of sugary sweetness to the base but follows up with a dry resinous pucker. Really digging this one with all the balance of fresh flavors and tamed alcohol note. There is a lovely crisp snap and loads of hoppy resins to this one making for some great crushocity.
M: Light body with a nice spritzy carbonation and moderately high amounts of resiny bitterness. Dry and crisp in the finish. Long lasting sticky linger.
D: This is very good. Dank and tropical with resinous linger and a minimal malt base. Now I know these guys are trying to focus on Brett based beers but man I gotta say their IPA’s are stellar. Well worth checking this one out.
