Another review from the week of July 11, 2016 when at the source in San Diego.
Pours an amber color with a thin 1/4" white head. Noticeable saison yeast, Toolbox made beers almost too clean at times for some people's wishes, I always thought they did pretty good nonetheless. Dry wood. Hay. Barn. Coat. Blanket. Citrus.
Taste was good, dense saison yeast pushing the citrus hay barnyard thing still, good amount of drying oak effect. Definitely has a sour level above average, especially for a saison, its real tart and real sour, plenty of lemon power sour going on in this the entire time. Still enjoyable even if its a wild ale with a saison yeast essentially. Amazing how it has a strong oak profile, but the brett isn't there. Might be from only 5 months in a sterile environment. Pushes a white wine influence throughout. Seemed maltier than most saisons, but with the heft of sour, cuts through it whereas it might be a little much but for that aspect.

No lasting head, just a rich blend of bugs. Mixed fermentation, no farmhouse aroma as expected. Complex blend, lovely and the quantity is something to be shared.Bottle from a while back, Capone's, that did not sacrifice owing to age.
