this thing is dynamite, up there with the oak aged southern hemisphere as the best beers these guys have done to date. a nice big fluffy stout aged with cocoa nibs and toasted coconut, the flavors of both really come through. i actually prefer this to the more famous death by coconut. i think the base beer is a lot more drinkable, less sweet and thick, and i think the coconut flavor is better, more pronounced and more authentic. instead of sweet milk chocolate, its bitter earthy raw cocoa, and i think that works a lot better too. i love the integration of these ingredients with a base stout thats big enough to support them at this proportion, but not so bold that it stands in their way, i think the balance there is wonderful, really well engineered. smooth in feel but not too much body, and one small pour was definitely not enough for me. i could drink this by the gallon. being a coconut fiend, its never pronounced enough in beer, always lets me down, but in this case, its perfect. i hope they can keep making this one, i think its beautiful beer, and im not usually one for flavored brews but this is polished! a must try!
