Mockery might change their name. This Blonde is no joke. This is a very decent, thoughtful experiment in a style that is still finding its center in the 21st Century trend to test new ingredients to ales. The raspberry is perhaps more common as it is a stimulant. But combining that stimulant with the chamomile is thoughtful because it is sleep-inducing. In these two ingredients, we find balance.
Bought from Beer Drop in a 32 ounce crowler, this Belgian Blonde (seemingly without a name... which is OK) Looks interesting... almost like a redhead. There is not much foam; but that is not uncommon from Colorado Belgians. Smells are slightly above average in that I get both the two different ingredients (raspberry and chamomile); but they are both muted ingredients. While I know this will be a good ale, aromas are hesitant. For the Tastes, I know: balanced. In my mouth, it cleanses the palate for another bit of a mish-mash dinner. Achieves its goal on a hot summer day when I need refreshment also. Particularly friendly with salad.
Mockery Brewing is folks having fun at the foot of Paradise. This crafter has a common story around Denver. Seven years old, they could have done more. But they are doing enough now and will do more in the future. Cheers !
