On tap at the brewpub in San Francisco. Made with Pilsner and 100% Ella hops. Color is light yellow, a little cloudy, with attractive white foam in the glass. Rather bitter at first sip.
A lot of the scratchy Belgian taste. Some fruity blackberry in the back of the throat. Astringent and heavily yeasty flavored. The hops add some citrusy aromatics but it seems overdone with all the bitterness. Mineral aftertaste lingers unpleasantly with seeds and stems.
