Based on the German Christmas biscuit of the same name, the Pfeffernüsse Stout brings together a rich, malty stout with the perfect blend of festive spice. Ginger and cinnamon dominate the nose with biscuity malts and warming spices joining on the palate.

440ml can. Dry January is finished and I’m having a couple of Christmas beers left over from December. Pfeffernüsse (pepper nut) are traditional German spice cookies, chewy & gingerbread-like, often dusted in icing sugar or wrapped in white sugar frosting. I’m partial to them and this silk smooth, dark and oily stout from Bermondsey, London perfectly captures the cookies’ spicy notes of ginger, clove, nutmeg and white pepper. A very pleasant reminder of the recent Christmas festivities.
