L- Pours pale straw yellow, quite cloudy with vigorous rising CO2 and a 15mm snow white foam head. ps. @+10mins, it holds up well and forms lacing on the way down.
S- Very mild, I just get some grain.
T- Light, grainy, some balancing malt comes in, then a slightly vinous facet appears. That sense of crisp dry CO2 on the palate into the finish. Taste-wise I think they've done a surprisingly authentic version here.
F- The vinous/crisp-dry aspect does a decent job of distracting from the surprisingly low ABV%. This is a nice refreshing beer ideal for a summer's day.
O- I was fully prepared to not get on with this beer. Usually there is no way I'm paying good money to buy any beer under say 3.8%, and 3.4%... phhh, that came as a surprise when I retrieved the can from the larder. But I am pleased to find that as gentle as it is I'm rather enjoying it. Now that said given what it cost I shan't be buying any more of it but I've enjoyed this my first non-German version of the style.
440ml crafty-can BB: 20/01/2023. From: Cambridge Wine Merchants, opposite King's College Cambridge. Hence a probable tourist price of £3.50.
