Lighter in colour than our previous bitters, but still characterful and complex, The Golden Bitter brings together two fine English hops: Ernest and Endeavour. Sweet malt and dried figs are accompanied by a touch of pine and spice on the nose. The fruit follows through onto the palate and is joined by the smooth biscuity malt base, rounded off with an elegant bitter finish. Lighter than a traditional bitter and more subtle than a heavily hopped pale, The Golden Bitter is the perfect marriage between traditional English brewing and contemporary English hops.

440ml can.
L: Clear, rich gold colour with one finger of head that recedes to a smear with lots of scrappy lacing.
S: Clean and malty with a touch of chai.
T: Floral with notes of honey, bitter orange and assam tea. Light bitterness.
F: Medium body, slick mouthfeel, some prickly carbonation and a nicely dry finish.
O: An easy-drinking golden ale with leafy, tea-like English hops alongside the typical smooth honeysuckle. The concept of an English Golden Ale/Bitter hybrid working very well. Would be even better on a summer afternoon instead of this brassic winter evening.
