Oostermeer is a completely unremarkable Dutch village who's name just happens to translate to Eastlake. Boozy raisin, clove, and caramel are somewhat more remarkable, with a finish just dry enough to balance the dark sweetness.

Had on tap at the brewery. L: Pours hazy orange amber with a thin off white foam cap. S: Light fruit – ripe to slightly over ripe, slight caramel, light malts. T: Has a very fruity nose featuring tropical, banana, citrus, with bread crumb in the background. Has a pleasant Belgian yeast character with a light sweetness. Hops are low and malt is medium low. Balance is to the yeast. F: Medium body to just above, medium carbonation. O: This is more of a Belgian Strong Golden Ale than a Belgian Strong Dark Ale. The brewer may have altered the recipe. It is very drinkable.
