First time to East Lake. And first beer to try is a Belgian golden strong ale.
A-served in a 10 oz snifter with no head atop a clear dark golden beer with an amber hue.
S-spicy Belgian yeast. Black pepper and floral honey aromas noted as most predominant.
T-lots of spice atop a slightly sweet weak maltiness.
M-light bodied, very dry finish with a bit of a warming alcohol finish. Not vapory.
O-A bit of a weird brew. No cloudiness as the yeast must be filtered out. It tastes like an imperial saison with the heavy black peppery like spice present. Nice dryness with a high drink ability. Weak bodied due to the high attenuation. An interesting beer.
