This toad-like gargoyle of the blackest of brews was aged on American oak and Spanish brandy, bringing unexpected notes of pineapple, orange marmalade, and coconut to the traditional cacao, coffee, and burnt caramel found in the style. Equally viscous and vicious, it pours out of the tulip like a torrent of black quicksilver, the opaque blood of the gods.

750ml bottle. Gold foil wrapped cap. There is a little overflow upon removing the cap. Label has ABV% as 11%.
Dark cola brown colored body. Medium brown back lit edge. Every pour brings forth mostly foam, which diminishes only slowly. Slowly disappearing foam leaves behind big bubbles of lacing.
Aroma does include hints of the oak and brandy barrels. Also there is coconut along with chocolate and burnt caramel.
Taste has some complexity, due to the barrel aging. Brandy and oak notes combine with the roasted chocolate malts, coffee, and caramel. Has a little bright citrus and coconut.
Mouth feel is a little thinner than medium. Over carbonated.
It's too bad that there is so much foam from each pour, because it tremendously slows down the sipping of this beer. Has more of a mix of flavors than expected.

Totally caught off guard by this. Got asxan extra in a trade a while back. Poured with a head that wouldn’t quit. Not a ton of smell but it’s there. Taste is complex with lots of different notes. Feel could be thicker but you’d never guess it’s a 14 ABV, very smooth. Great treat!
