This actually does pour a beautiful rosé pink, but into a crystal clear white wine glass it darkens to classic red at full pour, with a slight fog therein. An effervescence reaches the surfaces as a thin blanket of fine bubbles that does fizzle out in short order.
Taste also exhibits a little rosé boost, booze and floral bite, making its mark on the sparkling apple cider, which was always clean and never spiced. The wine country influence really makes itself known, unsurprisingly considering the pedigree, but with another good showing. It's beautifully vinous but zippy and delicate, even hinting at waxy white wine at times. The brew is so delicate it really lets the almost champagne quality of the overall expression shine.
Still, something about it just seems more potent, leaving me preferring the orchardy base a hair or two more.
