Damn, this sucker pours crazy deep red, pulling from the wine grapes big time. The head is a short, fuzzy pastel pink that dissipates to the edges in a thin chain fairly quickly.
This grape brings some bitter skins, heady weight and mild tannin, somewhat overpowering the zippy Belgian pale sort of base this seems to have. It's not phenolic though, instead it's sort of verdant, but clean.
Actually, after I say that, a little yeasty spice does crop up with time, but the overall flavor profile seems oddly muted for both the featured ingredient, and Mad Fritz's profile more broadly.
