Meerts is our take on the style of beer traditionally derived from the second runnings of Lambic. Our modern interpretation begins with Pilsner malt, raw wheat, and Saaz hops, which is brewed using a turbid mash and long boil, and fermented in French oak foeders with our wild yeast. This version was then refermented on blackberries for two months prior to bottle conditioning

750ml green bottle. No dating information found. Label has this at 4.5%ABV.
Clear, rose red colored body. Brief fizzy head. No lacing, but active surface.
Aroma is blackberry and strawberry, with lemon and oak.
Taste is mainly tart but has some sweetness, as would be found from blackberries and strawberries. Vinous, with oak. Minor funk note of leather. Some berry remains in the aftertaste.
Mouth feel is very dry and crisp. Excellent carbonation.
Sour ale with sweeter berry notes.

On draft at Craft Brewed, Nashville. Poured out a dark, ruby color with a small white head with purple highlights. It left sudsy trails of lace. It smelled strongly of blackberry, lemon and some caramel. Nice tart tasting blackberry with lemon and some caramel sweetness.

Somewhat cloudy cranberry red with a faint bubble ring, high carbonated on the pour. Tart and full balckberry with hints of lemon, pear, and raspberry, and a solid oak backing. Jammy berries up front, slight apple cider vinegar, light funk, and solid oak. Very pleasant flavors all the while staying light and tart. Best meerts in awhile

750ml bottle served in a SIP Fest 2020 snulip. I didn't see a date on the bottle.

Deep purple-red, with lots of carbonation and no real head retention. Smells moderately tart, with light oak and little funk. Mostly blackberry jam.

Taste is tart and fruit. A little oak or other wood, not too strong. Moderate to light fruit skin bitterness.

Mouthfeel is dry, drying, and the effervescence is gone. Overall, nice beer.
