The 1 and 3-year old spontaneous beer and foeder saison blend was rested for the better part of a year in a freshly dumped Mourvèdre wine barrel from the Paso Robles region in California. Due to extended aging, the barrel’s instinctive rustic nature and red currant flavor are boldy expressed, which elevates a beloved beer to even new heights.

Beautifully shimmering burnt golden orange with a short khaki head that quickly fizzles out to a silky surface.
Tart apple and pear introduce a slick medium body whose crackly, pleasant carbonation has floral hints of prickly pear, passion fruit and watermelon Jolly Ranchers. The often overly intense but signature FF funk and sourness are subdued beautifully, letting mild white oak shine in the exhale after the semi-dry finish.
Overall this is very balanced and delicious, as a faint peppery accent also helps to develop some complexity with time.
