32 oz. growler poured into a snifter.
Appearance - Deep orange red body. Medium white head. Medium collar.
Smell - Strawberry. And lots of sugar. Some grapefruit hops. Caramel malts.
Taste - Strawberry flavor is again pretty nice. Sweet caramel malts. Some grapefruit hops, but more sweet than hoppy. Toasty finish and a little bitterness.
Mouthfeel - Medium heavy. Medium carbonation.
Overall - I haven't had the base beer, but this is just too sweet and not hoppy enough for me to think it's a double IPA. The strawberry is a nice touch, though. Comes through quite a bit.
