Poured a reddish orange body with one-finger head and lace patches. Aroma has some caramel and/or sugar maltiness, a bit of wood along with some yeast, spice (must be rye?), and citric notes. Thicker, sweet body, has a fuller mouthfeel, caramel/toffee malts along with figs seem to dominate although touch of yeast and wood smoothens beer and finishes with a citric and spicy bite. Don't get any resemblance of a triple, really, but it's a good beer if you like thicker, sweeter, maltier beers.

Spicy rye, deep toasty oak, sticky caramel sweetness, drying alcohol, dates, a touch of raisins, oak tannins. The barrel character is medium, but the base offers reminders of an American barleywine instead of a tripel.
