While excited for this beer, both the aroma and flavor have this strange ripe banana type note, that is also strangely apparent in 4Beans, so it might be an issue with vanilla. It is quite distracting from the beer that I didn't finish it, but the beer did have a wonderful body, and great use of heat and smokey pepper flavor.

Let me first say that I’m a big fan of JWB so I wouldn’t rate this beer low unless it truly deserved it. It does! I was very, very disappointed with this stout. It looks good with a dark black color and some tan foam. Smells good too with some burnt coffee and heat from the ghost peppers. The taste, however, was not good (kinda bad). The coffee taste was all burnt and no flavor. Vanilla bean wasn’t there at all and the ghost peppers were a little spicy but could not save this stout. The mouthfeel was off being thin for a 15.5% abv imperial (yes, this batch was 15.5%). At $1 an ounce JWB should be ashamed of themselves to even serve this! I didn’t finish it which is very rare for me. They should never brew this beer again unless they actually are sure it tastes up to their standards instead of putting out shit!

Not as hot as some may say it is. I found the heat to be reasonably well balanced and allowed the other adjuncts to be present and accounted for. Delicious.

Black as night, nice tan head, smells of cinnamon and peppers. Taste is similar, hot! Lots of pepper burns the throat, cinnamon in there too. Excellent spicy stout. This beer is el mariachi with ghost peppers.

If Huna and Mex Cake had a baby this would be its name. Great beer, perfect balance.
