A: Malty upfront and slightly bready, sweet, with a light tartness on the finish.
A: Deep brown color with reddish highlights, clear with a moderate white head that slowly recedes into a ring around the glass.
T: Sweet malts upfront, bready, with a very light roast, followed by a lingering slightly sharp sourness.
M: Medium-light bodied with moderately light carbonation.
O: Solid; definitely drinkable, but not one of my favorites. The sweet malt offset by the sourness is a bit sharp and with a very faint abrasive note. Kentucky Commons are best brewed traditionally as non-soured, dark versions of cream ales.
