Poured from a 750mL bottle into a J Wakefield tulip glass. Acquired in a trade.
Pours a deep black body with a small light brown head that reduces to a ring of retention.
On the nose is sweet cinnamon-sugar cookies, light coffee, boozy bourbon soaked brownies, cocoa.
On the tongue, the cinnamon is dominant with coffee-chocolate notes, more cassia bark, sweet Cinnabon rolls, a bit of bourbon on the follow through, finishes sticky and a bit cloying. Body isn’t as thick as I prefer in an imperial stout, carbonation is on point.
Good stout, not great. May have fallen off. Cinnamon flavor overtakes everything else, body is a bit thin, but it is an easy drinker for 14% and packed with flavor.
