Below the bar with minty and floral hop character that is below average in intensity and is muddled. Malt character is one-dimensional and mildly toasty. Really disappointing considering how well-regarded this brewery is.

Poured from the can into a Spiegelau IPA glass.
Pale amber body, with hints of burnt orange color along the edges. Fairly clear with fine carbonation, reaching to a real nice fluffy three finger solid white head with a creamy top. Good simple looking IPA.
Real nice hop aroma. Hints of floral and tropical notes, with a spicy kick. Soft rose petal quality with a bit of mango like sensing flavor. Might even be some orange zest kicking in there. Seems to hint a little spice going on as well, flirts maybe with a little bit of herbal hop, or perhaps something else. Very nice.
Good solid and enjoyable palate. A simple and supportive malt bill doesn't add much contrast, but is a solid platform for the hops to shine. Wonderful and unique tasting hop angles of herbal mint and spicy fruit quality. Mid palate seems to hit with a tropical almost juicy fruit, then finishes with a big minty herbal blast, and a touch of light toasty malt qualities. Real nice lingering bitterness that isn't to astringent either, but very large and noticeable.
Real nice very good IPA with a unique hop angle. SMASH beer? Makes me wonder.
