Drank on tap at Trillium Garden at the Substation, Boston, MA
Served in a tulip

Absolute pitch black appearance. Super dense, oily and viscous in the glass. There was no head or lacing whatsoever but only a thin, khaki colored halo atop the liquid.

The aroma was amazingly rich and decadent and totally reminded me of a Mounds bar. Loads of chocolate. Nice mix of both light and dark. Enormous coconut presence. Vanilla bean notes also came through strong. Some creamed coffee too. Bit of caramel. Quite sweet overall but definitely not excessively so.

The flavor profile was similar to the aroma and just as spectacular. Again, this was very reminiscent of a Mounds bar. Chocolate and coconut notes dominated. Super bold and robust. Uber malt forward. The sweet rum character came forth as the beer moved along the palate, but there was no harsh booziness whatsoever. Touch of coffee on the back end. The beer finished with a nice mix of roasted malts and some lingering, rummy, candy-like sweetness.

The mouthfeel was huge. Completely full bodied for the style. The beer contained an ultra fine, subtle effervescence that turned amazingly frothy and slick on the palate.

Of all the incredible beers I tried at the J. Wakefield tap takeover at the Trillium Substation, All Eyez On Me was definitely the winner of the night. This was everything I ever wanted a pastry stout to be. Overall, a truly spectacular offering by a phenomenal brewery.
