Consumed on tap at J. Wakefield in Miami. Super strong off the rip with a boozy smell punctuating the nose. Black to dark cola color with a reddish brown sheen. It lives up to its name in that it is quite an indescribable mash from the start, with subtler notes revealing themselves both as you search for them and as the beer warms. Most immediate is the coconut, coffee, and marshmallows. The macadamia lurks within the earthiness of the barrel aging. this beer bites a bit due to the boozy content. Overall a stout drinker would enjoy this. Maybe a little over ambitious, unless the ambition was to just mash everything hard into a single beer, then they succeeded.

Bottle. Tan head. Black color.
Marshmallow and nut mania. Tastes like honey walnuts dipped in marshmallows followed by thick fudgy goodness. The coconut and vanilla provide some sweetness, but are more subdue. Smooth and warming bourbon. This one is a winner. Jwake thickness.

16.9oz bottle (500ml) poured into a snifter. Purchased from the brewery in March 2020. Mash Hard is a bourbon barrel aged imperial stout with honey, macadamia nuts, coconut, vanilla, cocoa nibs, coffee and marshmallows.
This is a big, sweet pastry stout with a lot of adjuncts. Marshmallow Notes and flavors are immediately noticeable, the honey adds another level of sweetness. Definitely a sipper, definitely a dessert beer.
