Poured from a 16.9 bottle into a tulip glass. No head to speak of slight froth along the edge. Dark used motor oil thick appearance . When swirled in the tulip glass it shows great legging, almost looks like maple syrup running down the glass.
Aroma of rum barrels, coconut, cinnamon, roasted malt and very faint cheesecake
Taste is sweet but not overly sweet, the rum barrel aging is definitely up front, coconut and cinnamon are readily apparent as is a nice roasted note. Cheesecake flavor is hard to pin down but as it warms it comes through in the finish
Mouthfeel has a slight alcohol burn up front but it smooths out nicely. Full bodied and thick feeling. It’s kind of sticky but not overly sweet. 14% abv is well hidden. Finishes silky smooth.
Overall it’s a nice tasting and well crafted pastry stout. Pleasant drinking and chewy to drink
