Thanks hophound.
Batch #1
Deep mahogany in hue. Mocha colored foamy hear rises a finger or more, stays for a bit and then settles in to a scattered patch. Minuscule lacing.
Nose is roasty, mildly sweet chocolate notes, and an earthy peat note.
Flavor leads with some light roast coffee, mildly sweet chocolate and caramel malts notes, and again the earthy peat. But a mild dried apple note comes in as well.
Overall, a pretty nice take on an old school Russian Imperial Stout.

The beer is jet black. There is a small, quickly-receding tan head. A tiny bit of lace.
Roasted malt aroma, some charcoal.
Coffee, chocolate, and char taste, building throughout and lingering.
Medium-bodied.
A very nice beer.
