Poured from a slightly older 12oz can
On a hard pour, 2.5 fingers of very fine light tan head form, and slowly becomes rocky and dense as it recedes. Body is a touch dark, but definitely still has a red hue to it. Thin lacing forms. Retention after a while is just average.
Aroma is quite yeast forward, but just in an intense verging on smoky/spicy English ale sort of way. There is a slight sweetness, but the aroma implies a dryness.
Taste is again yeasty but it works. Someone below me described it as an Irish Ale meets a Belgian, which I can understand but it comes off as sweet and lightly spicy, again with an implied hint of smoke from some roasted malt. The sweetness is also implied, because this beer is nicely attenuated. There is a solid bitterness from full boil hops, and maybe some roasted malt. A full flavored ale with a hint of crispness.
The feel as I just mentioned is almost crisp with a nice attenuation at the front of the mouth, despite a finish the grows into a full "warm" malt that sticks around for a long while.
Overall, this is a nice and satisfying Irish, verging on scotch ale, but it's a nice end to a summer day.

Thanks to hop hound for this one. 12 oz can.
Pours a most profoundly dark amber hue. Fluffy sandy head bursts upward in a lively attempt to summit the glass. Great retention. Slight lacing.
Nose begins with a mix of what I expect for for style, a mild caramel malt with a ever so light dry bitterness. But then I notice a certain fruity note that reminds me of apple and date.
Flavor is much of the same, but the fruity nuances seem to deviate from style a tad too much. Still a pleasant sipper.
Body is medium. Carbonation lite. Fairly smooth finisher with a gentle drying out bitterness to finish.
Overall, a pretty tasty drink. Beautiful to behold. For those who love an Irish red that leans Belgian, this would be your jam.
