Named for the Butthole Surfers first LP, Brown Reason to Live plays two essential characters off one other – Special B crystal & Rochefort yeast – in a surprising autumnal offering with more than a few rabbit holes to chase.

Pours a bright pink, smells like raspberry, dark chocalate, crisp , with explosive hops, not bitter at all. Tropical fruit dominates. The best Saison I've had in years.

"Brown Farmhouse Ale" on the label, first bottling to my knowledge. (1/16)
Murky chestnut brown, sizeable head, two fingers of tan foam that leaves behind a decent amount of spotty lace. Rising carb trails visible along the sides.
Aroma is nutty and somewhat yeasty.
Taste has an odd astringent twang, slightly tart. Behind that it has typical brown ale characteristics. Nutty malt, light bitterness, honeyish aftertaste. Medium bodied. Overall it's ok, but seems a little strange with the astringency, which I don't remember it had on tap.
