Bought a Growlette after a Saturday afternoon out with some friends. $8 for 32 oz. Poured into a Guinness glass.

Look: Pale yellow, milky, murky.

Smell: Cereal, lemon, lemon poppy seed muffin, banana bread.

Taste: Weak lemonade. Coriander like Hoegaarden but subtle; floral kind of Rosée D'Hibiscus but more subtle.

Feel: Light beer with a complex profile. Great for summer nights.

Overall: The best of Hoegaarden and Rosée D'Hibiscus in a light beer/lemonade body.

Decent complexity. lots lots of going-on. Enjoyable & drinkable in a hot summer day. Value for money.

650ml bomber poured into tulip 20/3/17

A hazy, pale yellow almost milky, murky at the very least, finger of loose foam falls quickly leaving no lace

S grainy, spicy, bubblegum, dry cereal, banana chips, interesting yeast profile, mild funk, lemon, peppery, lots going on in this lightweight

T much like the nose with less grains and more spice, I'm liking the spicy, yeasty notes

M light and fluffy, almost over carbonated but just stops short of foam, its lively but a quick swirls all it takes to calm it down, slick inside with a spicy, yeasty, grainy, finish

O super drinkable and has enough going on to keep you entertained, nice session brew for sure

I could smash this stuff under a hot Sun and even this first day of Spring Sun is working well even though its far from hot...

Hazy pale yellow, plenty of fine carbonation, thin whitish head. No apparent lacing.

Smells of lemon, with some grainy qualities, and a bready yeast aroma.

Flavor is crisp, clean -- citrusy with a coriander-like spiciness, mild but noticeable floral hops with a slight lingering sweetness. Reminiscent of Hoegaarden, but more subtle and interesting. The inclusion of rye malt is genius, enhances the spiciness and mouthfeel without adding a lot of malty sweetness or gravity.

Overall, a really excellent low alcohol table beer that pairs extremely well with some cheese and crackers. I suspect it would pair well with a variety of seafoods too. Thoroughly refreshing, not at all thin or remotely bland.

Definitely one of the better grisettes I've tried, and a nice surprise. Any fan of Belgian brews should give this one a try.

650ml bottle, whose name literally means 'an old mistress', and may also be a reference to the film 'The Last Mistress'.

At any rate, this beer pours a hazy, pale golden yellow colour, with two fingers of puffy, finely foamy, and somewhat fizzy off-white head, which leaves some eroding coral reef atoll lace around the glass as it quickly sinks out of sight. Lots of continually rising effervescence to boot.

It smells of grainy and crackery wheat and rye malt, mildly edgy Belgo-Franco yeast, a hint of hard water flintiness, some subtle apple and pear skin fruitiness, ephemeral white pepper dust, and some very tame earthy and floral hop bitters. The taste is bready and doughy pale malt, some lessened wheat and rye graininess, a more understated earthy yeast character, hard to discern light pome fruitiness, and more weak leafy, weedy, and floral hoppiness.

The carbonation is quite gentle and caressing in its palate-coating frothiness, the body a decent medium weight, and mostly smooth, with perhaps a wee yeasty pithiness creating more duress than one might have thus far been expecting. It finishes off-dry, barely, as the mixed malt kind of wavers, but never really falters.

Overall, I'm starting to get the feeling that Grisettes are the more or less simpler cousins of Saisons, in the muddied Farmhouse ale world. Both the typical yeasty and spicy essences are so downplayed here, it's sometimes hard to really get a handle on them. Whatever, this is a plainly easy to drink brew, the lowered ABV and lack of any particular astringencies surely adding to the cause.
