Had at Lincoln Park Zoo Brew. At 72 IBU, I doubt a Belgian -- or even a Belgo-phile like me -- would recognize this beer. Harsh in the mouth. But fun
10/27/22 Had again, over 4 years later. And I'm largely sticking with my previous review. This copy was on tap at The District Brew Yards and it, too, was too hoppy without redeeming qualities. I'm glad that Hippo has found a home, however temporary, in a really cool incubator. But I wish they hadn't brought out this recipe again. 72 IBUs does not allow a Belgian-like yeast to create its complex flavors. Heavy hops do not steal the show in the Belgian tradition, and I hope they never do.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
