Soft, white head that leaves a froth of lacing. Sienna-amber color. Starts with a nice bitterness, quick flash of smooth malt. Builds into a nice citrus rind medium bitterness as the spicy rye malt backbone reappears. Finish is lingering rye spice on citrus rind. Silky smooth on the tongue.
Overall, not bad. I'm always disappointed when a Rye bier doesn't use rye aggressively. But, this is still good. A bit tame on the rye and the hops, but a nice balance overall.
