Appearance - The beer poured a dark orange color with visible carbonation and a white head.

Smell - The beer had a bubbly sour mango nose.

Taste - The beer was tremendously sour. Mango was present at the front with exceptionally sour pineapple toward the back. I did not know pineapples could be so sour, borderline abrasive.

Mouthfeel - The body was thick with fruit debris. The acidity of the sour lingers.

Overall - The beer bordered on being too sour, but I enjoyed it.

Wow this is incredible, yet another amazing sour by these guys. Sour pineapple hits you up front, with acidic mango second, combining for a sour tropical drink. Supporting yeast, graham cracker, coconut (maybe by association), vanilla, kiwi, and other tropical fruits round out an amazing taste, really would be hard pressed to find a more enjoyable tropical sour. Smell is mango and pineapple, but a little muted compared to others in the series, but still very nice. Has a more defined appearance, with a ring of white bubbles on the surface and fading orange hues in the boy. Nice puckering sour, lingering acidity, and slight tropical nectar sweetness.

This is a must-try - at $18 for 750ml, a comparatively good price for Michigan sours and a memorable experience. Pours a deep golden yellow/orange, incredibly jammy nose with big mango and pineapple aromas. The instant it hits your tongue there’s a wow reaction - incredible pucker, very sour, but then cut and balanced with an amazing warm maple syrup alcohol sweetness that lingers in your mouth. Would love to know how much fruit they used, because this tastes like drinking an incredible sour jam, would go great with warm pancakes. Sour enough to discourage drinking all night, but a really enjoyable and eye-opening beer from another great Michigan sour brewery.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, bottled in 12/2018. Pours slightly hazy medium golden amber color with a 2 finger desne and rocky off white head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lingers. Nice dense spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of huge juicy/sour/tart/tangy pineapples, mango, melon, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, raspberry, strawberry, peach, pear, apricot, red/green apple, white grape/wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, honey, candi sugar, wheat, and white bread dough; with lighter notes of oaken vanilla, pepper, leathery/musty/lacto funk, white wine vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Incredible aromas with fantastic complexity and balance of pineapple, mango, fruity/funky/acidic yeast, bready malt, and wine barrel notes; with big strength. Taste of huge juicy/sour/tart/tangy pineapples, mango, melon, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, raspberry, strawberry, peach, pear, apricot, red/green apple, white grape/wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, honey, candi sugar, wheat, and white bread dough; with lighter notes of oaken vanilla, pepper, leathery/musty/lacto funk, white wine vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit/wine tang, and light yeast/oak spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of sour/tart/tangy pineapples, mango, melon, fruit skin, lemon, lime, orange, grapefruit, raspberry, strawberry, peach, pear, apricot, red/green apple, white grape/wine, oak, hay, straw, grass, honey, candi sugar, wheat, white bread dough, light leather/funk/vinegar, and yeast/oak earthiness on the finish for a while. Amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of pineapple, mango, fruity/funky/acidic yeast, bready malt, and wine barrel flavors; with a fantastic malt/tart/sourness and tangy fruit balance; with minimal puckering flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tart/sourness, tangy fruit, and yeast/oak spiciness. Medium carbonation and medium-full body; with a very smooth, creamy/bready, and fairly acidic/tangy/tannic balanced mouthfeel that is fantastic. Minimal warming alcohol for 8.5%. Overall this is an insane fruited sour/wild ale! All around amazing complexity, robustness, and balance of pineapple, mango, fruity/funky/acidic yeast, bready malt, and wine barrel flavors; very smooth and dangerously easy to sip on for the ABV, with the mellowly acidic/tangy/tannic/drying finish, not overly lactic. Perfectly balanced between juicy/jammy fruit, Brett/Bacteria complexity, bready malts, and wine barrel presence/integration. Not overly sweet/heavy from lingering dryness. Definitely the best one I've had in the series yet; more malty and minimally puckering than the other pale colored versions. A highly amazing offering, and world class style example. One of the best imperial sours I've ever had from anywhere.
