I kept hearing about this double rye, so I figured I should hie my ass hither. So I did. 13 oz. glass of grain, water, hops, yeast, & other stuff.
The pour is amber, much less than vibrant than the red of the darksider woman playing whatever it is they're playing at the tables over there.
Double Rye just proves they didn't skip on the rye by definition, right? Ginormous pepper notes, spice, creeping bitterness infects the mid-palate. Simultaneously a bit light & a big alcohol heavy, but the rye sticks to the palate like pine tar. The malt arrives late, & the caramel interferes a touch with the wry pleasuring. But not much.
A very good beer that receives the Maximum12 Rye Seal of Approval (which definitely should be a thing). Very good beer.
