Our Northeast Pale Ale is brewed with Pale and Pilsner malt, along with a copious amount of Citra hops that give a super hazy and juicy color to the beer. Bright oranges fall on the nose with a smooth, citrus flavor on the palate. If you close your eyes, you just might think this beer was juiced rather than brewed.

This is damn good..really full of flavor. Sweet to start but has a juicy hoppy taste. This is basically a hazy APA. Smells delicious as well. As you get toward the end of a 16oz can though you can really taste the sweetness start to get a bit overwhelming. Another great one from insight.

Appearance: Pours a hazy, medium orange color with a moderate, pillowy, white head. SRM of 10. (3.75)
Aroma: Aromas of juice. Orange juice, grape juice, apple juice. Almost has a Belgian yeast like aroma to it. Subtle sweet candy malts underneath. (3.75)
Flavor: Much less flavor than on the nose. Light orange and apple juice flavors. Some pineapple, peach, and grapefruit. A pale malt, cracker, biscuit and almost candied fruit to it. (3.5)
Feel: Lighter bodied and dry. Light to medium carbonation. Almost airy and nonexistent. No astringency. Hides the alcohol well. (3.5)
Overall: A beer behind its time. In today's hop phase, people are clinging to IPAs with more hops or east coast IPAs with more juice. This one is light and airy, and overall I would say lacking flavor to my current palate. 10 years ago this might have been a smooth-drinking juicy beer, but doesn't even come close to the level of juice and hops we are experiencing now. This beer just doesn't hold up to the modern palate. (Final Rating: 3.53)

a little sweet but quite good, lots of citra character coming through, and probably the best of the hoppy beers i have had from insight so far. its hazy but light in color, a little orange to it, and a nice clean malt base for there being some haze, i smell and taste a pale pils type, and maybe some wheat, but its not heavy at all, which is a big key for me personally in this style where so many of them are starchy and milky and dense, this stays way lighter than that even though it looks cloudy. tangerine and lemongrass in the nose, meyer lemon and lemon curd in the taste, very low bitterness, some leafy greenness too, but not overdosed or harsh at all. a couple of thoughts pop into my head on this one. the first is that this would be cool with a champagne yeast finish, to dry it out, sparkle up the carbonation a bit, and lend a slight vinous thing to it, i could see that being amazing with the pils malt and citra this is built with. the second is that i just wish it was drier, i like the hoppy linger that the sweetness offers, but it slows me down a bit, adds a honey character, and i think keeps this from its full potential a little bit. still, a nice glass of beer, they did a great job on this one!

Hazy pour with citrus aroma, hop-forward well balanced tasted with incredibly smooth mouth-feel. LOVE this beer. The best MN brewed NE style pale ale I’ve tried.

This is closer than most Minnesota attempts at NE-style beers. The haze is there but most breweries get that more-or-less right. The nose is a little weak relative to fresh NE examples but this was canned on 05/16/18 so a little over six weeks old, fresher examples may be closer to style. Mouthfeel is nearly there with some of the roundness and fullness of body but too much hop bite on the back palate relative to most examples of the style. Most good NE examples have far more tropical fruits than this exhibits but again but again a fresher example might address this. Not bad for this far west but not yet in the same league as Trillium, Tree House, Bissell Brother, Lawson's, The Alchemist, etc.

Pours slightly hazy like a NE IPA, but instead of looking like OJ, it looks like Grapefruit Juice splashed in beer. Smell is GREAT, intense ripe passion tropical fruit. Taste is solid, fruity hop goodness. This is one of the better NE IPAs around.

Opaque yellowish orange, thin head, floaters if you tip the can the whole way. Orange and sour melon on the nose, very fruity. Taste is nicely balanced between hops and malts, fairly bitter and fruity with a dry finish. Smooth, on the thick side, lightly carbonated. Feels like a higher ABV than it is. A decent local NEIPA.
