Claw King pours a bright, hazy, chunky color, with a large lacing head. Aroma is dry, and fruity. Flavor is dry, lots of tropical fruits, hints of spicy, and a little bitter, lots of flavor. Good body and feel. Overall, very solid full bodied hazy IPA, lots of flavor.

Got this from a cool variety oack where they pulled out old specialty IPA recipes. This one is a super hazy and super fruity NEIPA. Very flavorful - its extremely fruity without losing hop character (i.e. it doesn't turn into fruit juice)

Appearance: Pours a completely cloudy, hazy, medium orange color with a strong, thick white head. SRM of 8-9. (4.25)

Aroma: Strong aromas of orange citrus, grapefruit, strawberry, tangerine, vanilla cream, and more citrus. Mostly clean and citrusy. (4.00)
As it ages, more sweet strawberry melon, tea.

Flavor: Flavor follows with a delicious and clean orange, flower, grapefruit, citrus flower, sweet strawberry, tangerine, and vanilla flavor with more citrus to support. Juicy and creamy. Some biscuit malt. Yet finishes with just enough bitterness to be extremely clean. (4.00)
As it ages, more sweet strawberry, melon, tea.

Feel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation. Creamy, but also somehow crisp and clean. (4.25)

Compared to Phantom Taxi 7/4/20: Pours a much lighter and hazier color. More grapefruit and citrus aromas/flavors rather than sweet mango. Much more light, clean, and balanced overall. Winner: Claw King

Compared to Little Sumpin Hazy 9/16/20: Pours a lighter color with a stickier head. Aromas/flavors of more grapefruit/strawberry. Less resinous orange, tangerine, mango, pine.

Compared to Lupulin Brewery's Hooey 10/31/20: Pours a slightly lighter and less clouded color. More sweet strawberry and melon. Less green and juicy

Compared to Dogfish Head Hazy O IPA 6/22/21: Pours a slightly lighter color with similar haze. Both are sweet, but this has slightly more citrus and less cream. This one has nice citrus, flower, and orange.

Overall: An absolutely delicious NEIPA. It's completely hazy, creamy, but also clean and crisp. Fantastic grapefruit and vanilla cream flavors. I"m not sure how old the can is b/c this brewery doesn't date their cans. I tried it once and then a few months later. A few months later it has much more sweet strawberry, melon, berry with more sweetness and smokiness than the more fresher counterpart with strawberry and grapefruit citrus. Nevertheless, it's actually an extraordinary beer! Quite a dynamic IPA and deserves a better rating than it's given. (Final Rating: 4.16)

L: murky gold amber under a 2" cream colored foam cap with fair retention

S: smells like a cake composed of tropical fruit, vanilla, citrus, citrus peel, and oats

T: Mildly sweet big fruit flavors hit the tongue and spread through the mouth featuring tangerine, topical fruit, vanilla, and pie crust

F: juicy, creamy and a little pulpy with medium full body and medium minus, very soft carbonation

O: a big full flavored beer with an intensity that makes it difficult to drink more than one at a time
