Ekuanot, Mosaic, Mosaic Cryo, Amarillo Hops

At 8.3%, a full body balances out the sweetness of this big, beefy NEIPA. Thick and opaque, the heavy spelt additions and a sprinkle of rye deepen the full, juicy body. Citrusy, herbal, and spicy Ekuanot hops play nicely with the showrunners Mosaic and Amarillo - all dry hopped at two points during fermentation.

This is a unique beer. It carries some heft and definitely punches at its weight class. It starts with some earthy sage like notes along with a light nutty malt impression. But hop notes of citrus (oranges and lemon) along with red and black berries emerge next and take over the show.

Kind of a hybrid in my opinion as it looks like a NE IPA and has some of the aroma and taste but also brings some forth some more classical west coast IPA impressions as well.

Quality beer.

Appearance: Pours a completely hazy (>90% opacity), pale golden color with a small white head. SRM of 8. (4.00)

Aroma: Intensely strong juicy aromas of orange citrus, tangerine, tropical melon, papaya, resinous berry and wet pineapple. (4.00)

Flavor: Flavor follows with juicy orange, tangerine that come across almost rubbery or plastic-like. Then it has dank, slightly herbal, but resinous blueberry underneath. Finishes fruity and definitely leans sweet. (3.50

Feel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation. Thick and leaves a fruity and resinous sweetness lingering on the palate. Alcohol is detectable here. (3.50)

Compared to Elysian Full Contact IPA 5/27/21: Pours a lighter and hazier color. Stronger fruit and juicier aromas. More orange citrus and blueberry. Less peach, strawberries and cream. Fruitier and more Mosaic here.

Overall: Definitely a dry-hopped IPA here. Extremely juicy. Nice orange, tangerine, and tropical, resinous blueberry flavors. Allows the Mosaic to shine here. Almost too much here though. The higher ABV is detectable and leans a cloying sweetness of hops on the palate. Kind of lended a plastic or rubbery flavor. (Final Rating: 3.70)
