At the tap room, pours a clear golden orange. Nose is lots of caramel malt, overripe pineapple, some honeyed woodsy herbal notes, too. Taste goes away from the fruit that I thought I was going to get from the nose…more herbal, maybe some mint, and then some slightly sticky resiny pine (except not too bitter). Mouthful is a little on the fuller side…not too lively, and kind of coats my mouth after, though it isn’t heavy, and doesn’t seem super oily, either.
Not sure what to make of this one, but it’s got a number of good parts, even if it doesn’t quite add up to something that sings for me.

L-Semi hazy oak color
S-Interesting aroma to say the least....Black licorice up front, along with hints of mint and cedar.....then a fruity dimension of berries, peaches and a touch of coconut.....finally some earth/piney notes as well.
T-Get the black licorice again right away and then a sweetened fruit berry candy like flavor....almost cool-aid like....some earth and pine and the finish brings in a touch of cedar and black pepper....
F-Medium bodied...not a lot of bitterness but a lot of flavors.
O-This is one unique IPA. Not sure I've ever used some of these descriptors for an IPA before but those are the characteristics I'm getting out of it. It's well made. Not sure I could drink a lot of these but they are very flavorful.
