Pours dark, near black, with a burgundy tint when held against a light. Two fingers of off-white foam sit atop. Aroma is roasty, nutty, earthy malts with some mild wafer malts adding a squeeze of dryness. Light spicy hops add some zest. Dry finish. Flavor profile is earthy, toasty, roasty, nutty, and caramely malts with minor wafer notes as a bit of an afterthought. Semi-dry finish. Mouth feel starts with semi-crisp and holds a bubbly fuzzy texture afterwards, with a medium thickness throughout. Overall, pleasant darkness in a refreshingly and approachable way.
