Gorgeous looking beer, clear and bright - almost glowing - orange-brown hue. Light carbonation and a great hop-malt balance blended with wood flavor and alcohol heat. Aromatic toffee and bourbon nose. Not nearly as hoppy as some American barleywines (e.g., Bigfoot), could almost pass for British. Would stockpile this if I could find more!

2016 bottle.
Woody, nutty, marshmallowy. Delicious. Sorry I don't have more to add, but felt obligated to at least share that, because if you see it, and like those elements...then buy it if you see it. I know I will. Cheers.

2015 Old Blood and Guts
Look: Rich Amber
Smell: Sweet dark bread with a firm hint of booziness
Taste: Creamy sweetness with a pleasant hoppiness in the center. The same firm hint of booze holds sway throughout. Licorice?
Feel: Balanced.
Overall: A very nice Barleywine. Says 13.5% ABV this year. I reccomend it highly.

10 oz pours. Excellent Barleywine, the 100IBU balance very well the maltiness, surprisingly drinkable in large quantities.
