Enjoyed on tap at the source in SE PDX
Poured into a Baerlic Belgian-style tulip

p- light-moderately hazy orange w/ a 1f foamy white head; fairly quick recession
n- big sweet juicy tropical fruit; some vanilla; pleasant
t- mango, light resin, and some tangerine peel over med lightly-toasted malt body; has some musty elements to it but it works; pretty tasty; gets more tropical as I drink through it
mf- lightly creamy; med-bodied w/ med carb
o- quite the nice dipa; tasty and super drinkable

Dated 6/21. Hazy golden pour, thick head. Very dominating aroma of floral and fruit from the Strata hops. Taste runs to citrus, highly layered tastes of flowers, stone fruit and a slight hint of herbal / grassiness. Semi-dry, great mouthfeel. Finish is like forever, very long and quite drikable. The 8% ABV is hardly noticeable. This is a very nicely made IIPA.

This is Baerlic's "Official 5-year Anniversary beer," proclaims the label. It's quite hazy, amber in color, and spritzy. Aromas of papaya, pineapple, tangerine. Flavors of cedar, passion fruit, and I swear, a touch of hot dog. Just sweet enough. Quite lush, actually.

Hops are listed as Strata, Amarillo, and Chinook. Strata is a new variety (2018) with a lot of promise for this kind of flavorful madness. It's fruity but not as citrusy as other popular hops, and the grapefruit peel bitterness is not here. More of a melon with dankness. From the 16 oz can purchased at Market of Choice in Eugene.

A soft glowing bright orange color with yellow highlights, like a tequila sunrise. Spotty white foam patches lace the glass and surface.

Extremely fruity aromas of freshly squeezed peaches and mangos. Grapefruit and pine take a back seat as a perfect compliment.

A more mellow blend in the flavor. Cactus fruit (or tunas*) seem to make up that blend in a singular fashion. A little confectioners sugar to go along for the ride.

Soft, low carbonation, kind of creamy even, and favoring sweet with just enough bitterness to almost balance. The alcohol is well hidden.

A good DIPA, but I prefer the OG Punk Rock Time to this. Granted they aren't exactly the same style so it's not a fair comparison. Either way, work the experience. Cheers and congrats to five years, Baerlic!
