The best defense is a good offense. This easy drinking American pilsner is brewed with Cascade hops and meant for crushing during long touchdown drives. Go Bills.

i feel like every brewery in western or central new york has a bills beer, pretty good pun with this one at least, got to satiate the mafia! its decent lager, more american lager than any kind of classic pils, although the label says american pilsner, its somewhat hoppy, but not to west coast levels, think craft lager with some hops, less pils, no real fermentation character to me, not so european on the malt, more neutral in both respects, but of reasonable overall quality, just kind of lost in a weird style middle ground. smells like yellow beer, a little bit of cheapness and sweetness to it, some white bread type malt personality, some minerality to it, and then the hops, which hit northwestern with some citrus and pine, not real heavy, but somewhat robust as the american lager space goes, the lagering isnt great, and even in the nose this lacks the crispness i was after. subtle graham cracker, hay, and even like sawdust or something, not super fresh to me, missing snap. the flavor is marginally better, hay and grass and straw, pale barley malt with a little sweetness left from the mash in here, pils-like i suppose, but a little heavier as it goes, its not light textured and flavored, its a bit weighty to me on the palate, not amazingly well refined overall. light honey, pine sap, tennis ball, slight oxidation, doughy type grain character late, low hop bitterness, some residual sugar diminishing the refreshment factor i was after. its not bad, i like the extra bit of hops in it, but its also not great technically speaking. also easy to hate on as a dolphins fan! just kidding, this is fully objective as always. not the best ive had from these guys, was hoping for a tighter classic pils type, this almost drinks like a mid level hoppy blonde...
