A farmhouse pale ale brewed with a large portion of oats, hopped with Citra and EKG, and fermented entirely with Brett.

Big carb but it settles into an uneven slightly off white head. Sunset orange and umber tones. Really beautiful. Smell is citrus and some rustic grain, barn door woodiness. Taste follows through, bursting with fruit, mild Brett funk, incredible creaminess from the oats. Though the high carb scared me this is never prickly. Fantastic.

I had this beer on-tap in a tulip at the brewery.
Appearance: medium orange hue with a good haze and moderate effervescence. Head leaves a nice lacy foam as it dissipates. Attractive!
Smell: lightly sweet and fruity with a nice piquancy. Interesting!
Taste: fruity with brash grapefruit and subtle mango; some woody notes and a light funk. They tell me it's not aged on wood, that the Brett is giving all that character. Very interesting and complex.
Mouthfeel: medium body with a very well integrated carbonation and a very good, smooth creaminess. Great.
Overall: this is a weird beer but it is complex, tasty and interesting. Well worth a try.

Pour: On draft at the Holy Mountain brewery in Seattle, WA. Poured into a tulip glass. Appearance: Orange and cloudy with a minimal white head and slight lacing on the glass. Aroma: Light citrus and hops. Some lingering floral notes in there as well. Taste: Dank citrus more orange-like. Earthy and grassy as well. Some doughy-like malt detected as well. Aftertaste: Consistent. Earth, grass and orange citrus are present through the end. The doughy malt is there on the back end as well. Overall: Very consistent brew. Enjoyed it. Very good. 4.06 out of 5.

A: A nice, slightly murky golden color with just a touch of orange to it. A beautiful, fluffy three finger head forms right away and takes a while to settle.
S: This smells awesome. Green peppercorn, light tropical fruit, saison yeast, light grass, hay and lemon. Just a touch of Brett in there as well.
T: Spicy pink peppercorn, doughy yeast, lemon zest and some grass. Finishes with some brett and light black pepper. Leaves a pleasant dryness on the tongue. A really great beer.

If you're in the market for a peppery, spicy, hoppy saison, this one's for you.
