Taste is a, to me, classic saison. That yeast, light feel, and color work to a truly great saison that I have been waiting for from HM. If you can get this, it is an excellent way to get into the style and into Belgians. Good clean taste and beer overall.

Growler picked up at the taproom two days ago. I'm a serious saison enthusiastTasted 1 April 2016.
Pours clear golden with a touch of orange. Limited white head, decent retention and lacing. Not much visible carbonation. Nice color, though.
Smell is earthy, a bit fruity (banana), with a bit of herbal spice. Reminds me a bit of a hefeweizen, but rich and deep, a little funky. Excellent.
Taste also rings with characteristics of saison and hefe. Spicy, prickly peppery, with rich grains behind it, drifting towards banana bread. Yum.
Feel is outstanding. Light in the mouth, with tingly carbonation that fades slowly, like the end of a party.
Really tasty stuff. I'm a saison lover, and I'm thrilled to have this brewery nearby.
