Had West Coast in June 2017, on Gotland, Sweden, poured from 33-cl. bottle, label stamped batch "639," and bäst före "181117," into small hand-blown tulip glass.

This IPA's only defect is the ABV, as before I learned it is 6.50 I thought this was an excellent session NEIPA, with a beautiful look and a sharp citrusy aroma, opening with a nice bite, delivering good flavor of citrus and light caramel malt, and finishing nicely bitter.

At Beereau Berlin, a great place, tasting 200mls in a snifter.
13th review. Great Hazed IPA, more mid-coast than west-coast. On tap.
a) hazed lacey, lasting head body.
s) Piney, tropical, sunny dried grass and herbs, citrus, pale malt.
t) As aroma, but super smooth, adding berries, pale malts, herbs, hints of tropical fruit.
f) Extremely smooth, light body, inviting, balanced.
o) Sum greater than the parts, creamy and dreamy.

Pours a hazy golden amber, peach coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and juicy tropical notes of mango, papaya and guava, with hints of citrus and grassy dankness as well. Taste is great balance of light biscuity malt, juicy tropical notes of mango, papaya and guava, lighter citrus notes of grapefruit and lime peel and hints of grassy dankness. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and some tropical, dank notes lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

Despite being called "West Coast", which I believe to be a tongue-in-cheek reference to the brewery's location on Sweden's west coast, this is actually quite a well-done New England IPA with the typical sweet and juicy tropical notes, balanced nicely against some lighter citrus notes, with a good dankness as well.

Poured to a Ora et Labora taster.

A: Body is bright and opaque yellow having a one finger thick white head showing a great great retention. The body looks very juicy.
S: While the West Coast reference creates the expectations for a more grassy and resinous aroma profile, here it's a mix between a small profile of resinous touches and delightful citrus tones. The aroma is very very delicate, being as delicate as a perfect session IPA.
T: Taste starts off with citrus, tangerine, grapefruit and then turns smoothly to a more green and earthy touch, peaking at a gentle but strong bitterness. This is actually really good stuff.
M: Body is medium. Carbonation is high. Bitterness is high and alcohol is unnoticeable.
O: Another great beer from Stigbergets. They're doing really great stuff.

A 330ml bottle, batch 579, with a best before date of 10th July 2017. Poured into a Spiegelau IPA glass.

Appearance: A hazy darkish orange colour with a one finger white head that had pretty good retention and left nice lacing.

Aroma: Strong pineapple and papaya with hints of mango, grapefruit and pine here and there.

Taste: Pineapple and mango tropical fruit starts and ends quickly, followed by a long lemon peel, lemon tea, pine and grapefruit bitterness.

Mouthfeel: Light to medium bodied with moderate to low carbonation.

Overall: What I liked about GBG and Amazing Haze was the tropical fruit flavours. With this West Coast IPA, the tropical flavours were there, but only for a second; they disappeared too fast. Having said that, it is still a very nice and enjoyable IPA.

L - Very hazy yellow a thin white lacing

S - A mix of fruits. Stone fruits, tropical fruits malt balance

T - Follow the smell with a low green tea bitterness and a good balance

M - Very juicy, low carbonation

O - once again a great New England style ipa from stigbergets, a bit less complex than gbg though

Bright yellow color, really hazy with lots of floaties, white head. Aroma has mostly tart citrus fruits and some fresh cut grass. Taste follows, fresh and citrusy, slightly bitter with yellow grapefruit flavor on the finish. Medium body, really smooth on the palate. A great IPA with a New England style look and feel but west coast style hops.

Amazing hazy yellow with a fluffy white head.

The nose is all tropical, juicy mango and pineapple. So fruity...

Mango dominates the flavor, with a perfectly balanced bitterness. The finish is long, with a bit of piney resin to it.

The liquid is soft, pillowy and smooth, with just a hint of oiliness. Almost dangerously easy to drink.

Overall, a great NE style IPA, readily available anywhere in Sweden. It´s a beauty to look at, to smell and to drink.

Pours an orange-amber color, with a big, fluffy head. Its head does prevail the whole time, maintaing its fluffy appearance.

Smells of flowery, juicy oranges, amped up by big chunks of fresh cut lemon peel. Malts cuts through in the faintest way, still adding a toffee sweetness to the bitter, unripe fruits.

Has a smooth mouthfeel to it, while providing a lemony crispness and a medium, pleasant carbonation.

Offers lemon peel from the beginning with an aqueous smoothness to it. Bready, toffee malts mingle together with lemon pulp and unripe orange, creating an exhilarating interplay. This creates an intense dryness, in which a certain fruitiness still prevails. Finishes with sweeter malts, minerals and lots of lemon pulp.

This is a perfect example for a well made, bitter, crisp and yet fruity west coast ipa. It is up there with its famous anerican brothers, imitating it perfectly well.

Batch: 469. Bottled May 11 - 2016.
Had it May 18.
This is fresh! Only seven days old :)

Hazy, orange beer with a two finger high, fluffy head. A lot of lacing stays on the glass.

Nose: Grapefruit, orange, citrus, pine, grass, sweet malt, floral notes and a little spicy notes.
Taste: Really nice taste of fresh hops. Grapefruit, tropical fruit, passion fruit, grass and orange zest.
Mouth: Medium body. Light to medium carbonation. Soft and smooth texture. Dry, bitter ending.

Great, fresh beer!

When pouring the beer you get a hazy, yellow-orange color.
The foam is off white and is very nicely presented.
The foam has medium sized bubbles that leave little trace in the glass.
Light to medium carbonic acid.
Fresh hop aroma with associated Citrus, Grapefruit and little Passion
A little tropical fruit in the aroma.
There is little earthy scents of grass and pine.
Tastes hops, citrus, grapefruit passion fruit and a little tropical.
Spices, I forgot to say hops? A little grass, a little flowery.
Medium strong bitterness and thin lacing.
A well thought out IPA, although hops plays too large a role.
The aftertaste is good and is not too long, and a medium bitterness.

Had at The Rover in Goteborg. Decent IPA...but really bore no resemblance to a West Coast IPA...if thinking about USA. Hop profile didn't work...or didn't come across in the finished product. Considering Goteborg is on the West Coast of Sweden...no argument with name. And it was otherwise a nice pour.
