JUNE 2024.
33cl can (€5 from the pub fridge).
It is a West Coast style IPA with a percentage of oats and dry hopping of American Citra and Mosaic hops.
Freshly uncorked, light aromas of tropical fruit (especially pineapple) and citrus notes.
By pouring it (in three steps) the aromas expand.
It has a golden blonde appearance, slightly sheer as usual but without exaggerating.
The foam is visibly normal and appears soft and has a mild consistency.
In the mouth one finds a product of certainly high quality, but quite in line with the myriad of offers of similar products: medium body, light background carbonation, fruity flavors that initially range from exotic fruit (pineapple, mango) to summer fruit (white peach). , plums) then come the slightly more bitter notes of citrus peel and grapefruit with also a light herbaceous balsamic reflection.
The finish is quite "velvety" and reveals a non-persistent bitterness, which dries out the beer, leaving ephemeral citrus and vaguely herbaceous notes on the tongue, but without offering a further inspiration.
An easy to drink product, but also quite standard and which has real distinctive features to be remembered or recognized at first glance... just good quality/price ratio, yes, because I have drunk MUCH worse at the standard price of €5.

Had West Coast in June 2017, on Gotland, Sweden, poured from 33-cl. bottle, label stamped batch "639," and bäst före "181117," into small hand-blown tulip glass.

This IPA's only defect is the ABV, as before I learned it is 6.50 I thought this was an excellent session NEIPA, with a beautiful look and a sharp citrusy aroma, opening with a nice bite, delivering good flavor of citrus and light caramel malt, and finishing nicely bitter.

At Beereau Berlin, a great place, tasting 200mls in a snifter.
13th review. Great Hazed IPA, more mid-coast than west-coast. On tap.
a) hazed lacey, lasting head body.
s) Piney, tropical, sunny dried grass and herbs, citrus, pale malt.
t) As aroma, but super smooth, adding berries, pale malts, herbs, hints of tropical fruit.
f) Extremely smooth, light body, inviting, balanced.
o) Sum greater than the parts, creamy and dreamy.

Pours a hazy golden amber, peach coloration with a medium, fluffy head. Smells of light biscuity malt and juicy tropical notes of mango, papaya and guava, with hints of citrus and grassy dankness as well. Taste is great balance of light biscuity malt, juicy tropical notes of mango, papaya and guava, lighter citrus notes of grapefruit and lime peel and hints of grassy dankness. Finishes with a light/medium bitterness and some tropical, dank notes lingering in the aftertaste. Soft mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.

Despite being called "West Coast", which I believe to be a tongue-in-cheek reference to the brewery's location on Sweden's west coast, this is actually quite a well-done New England IPA with the typical sweet and juicy tropical notes, balanced nicely against some lighter citrus notes, with a good dankness as well.

Poured to a Ora et Labora taster.

A: Body is bright and opaque yellow having a one finger thick white head showing a great great retention. The body looks very juicy.
S: While the West Coast reference creates the expectations for a more grassy and resinous aroma profile, here it's a mix between a small profile of resinous touches and delightful citrus tones. The aroma is very very delicate, being as delicate as a perfect session IPA.
T: Taste starts off with citrus, tangerine, grapefruit and then turns smoothly to a more green and earthy touch, peaking at a gentle but strong bitterness. This is actually really good stuff.
M: Body is medium. Carbonation is high. Bitterness is high and alcohol is unnoticeable.
O: Another great beer from Stigbergets. They're doing really great stuff.
