A dessert wine barrel aged imperial stout brewed with over a ton of Estonian honey. Made in collaboration with our faraway friends from Holy Mountain.

Poured from a red-waxed 330mL bottle into a TG DBA tumbler. Pours a thick dark brown but gathers in the glass a shiny black with a sliver of mocha brown foam head. Chocolate, vanilla, tobacco and a little spirit barrel sting to the nose. Taste has chocolate, caramel, dark fruits snd oak. Ever so slightly sweet but honestly drinks like a dessert wine. Full, chewy mouthfeel. I really dig this one.

Pours the deepest, darkest burnt walnut and is capped by a firm mocha colored head. Great head, nice retention and elegant, layered lacing.
The nose is decadent. Meaty dates, chewy figs, some seep fruity notes, and a comforting honey sweetness.
The flavor is definitely a warm, sweet and lush dessert but yet it still allows for some hints of roasted barrel and earthy notes. But the sweet notes were deep, at times blending together, while at other times separating enough to really shine solo. Dates, caramel, figs, honey, and some floral brandy notes.
Mouthfeel is slightly chewy and gently warm.

Poured into a Fremont small snifter. Pours a very dark mahogany brown, appearing nearly opaque in the glass with a half finger dark khaki head with good retention and nice lacing. Aroma of dark toasted malt, Port, dark dried fruit and unfiltered honey. Flavor is dark toasted malt, Port, figs, hints of cocoa. Medium bodied with moderated creaminess and nice mouth feel. Delivers what it promises, a stoutish dark malt, but lots of Port character too. The honey is not that sweet and tastes like wild or unfiltered honey to me; kind of a earthy or umami flavor. From the description, I wasn't sure how much I'd like this, but it is quite nice. There are mild red wine notes as expected from Port, but that dessert wine is one of the few that I enjoy in stouts. A little on the sweet side and very much a dessert stout, although not as cloying. Lots of dried and fresh fruit notes from the Port and malt. Well done and enjoyable. Looks and feels great.
