Smooth caramel flavor and toasted malt notes. Brewed with over 15lbs of honey per batch, this crowd favorite has a hint of sweetness with a crisp, clean and dry finish.

A nice, dark red pour, a small head with light carbonation, and a mild, malty smell. Taste is crisp caramel and honey. Overall, a solid and very drinkable Irish red ale.

Broken Rudderpours a dark red, with a small but long-lasting head. The aroma is filled with sweet honey. Lots of honey on the palate, a hint of straw, and darker cereal. Good feel. Overall, big honey, lots of flavors, sweeter.

Awesome Beer! I couldn’t only pick up a very mild smell off of it, might of been the setting I was in

Pint pour from a local beer and burger joint.
L - Copper with an off white head. Fairly clear. Head lingers, but there is no lacing (foam slides down side of glass).
S - Very minimal caramel and toasted barley. No hop aroma. It might be too cold and I'll redo this if that's the case, but while it smells nice, the smell is very light.
T - Very nice flavor. Bready, caramel, toasted. Bitter enough so that it's not cloying, but no distinct hops flavors. Just a hint of honey flavor, as well.
F - Medium-light mouthfeel. The flavors linger nicely on the tongue. Finishes fairly dry for an ale (I suspect the honey helps here).
O - This is a lovely Irish red! I just wish the aromas came through a little better, but as I said, it was served a little colder than I think the style should be served at. If you're in a place that serves it or you can find it at the liquor store (you'd probably need to be in North Dakota or NW Minnesota... I don't know how far Drekker is distributed) and you like Irish Reds, go for this one!!

Poured from 16oz can into glass. No dating marked on can or on label. Beer name is in honor of the Hjemkomst ship, built locally as a replica Viking long ship. The ship made a successful journey from Duluth to Norway, despite a rogue wave from an Atlantic storm that tore off the ship's rudder.
Final pour resulted in slightly cloudy, medium amber colored body. Off white head is creamy and full of tiny bubbles. The head is long lasting. Leaves behind some lacing strings on the sipping side of the glass.
Aroma is a slightly roasted maltiness, with a caramel note.
Taste has the lightly roasted malts, the caramel, with the addition of honey sweetness. Spicy hops join in.
Very smooth and crisp mouth feel. Good carbonation.
This is a beer that goes down easily, and is quite refreshing. Quite sessionable.

Pours a clear brown-amber, a bit light for a red ale, with a white head. Aroma is of caramel, with a touch of roast. Mild flavor, roasted notes, some caramel notes, and a touch of malt sweetness. Just enough hops present to prevent it from getting cloying, with just a hint of earthy notes in the finish. The beer has a full mouthfeel, with moderate carbonation. Overall a solid Irish red.

This is the version with the 20 Below coffee infused. Pours amber in color with a nice tight white head. Aroma is a bit lacking. Limited coffee in the profile. Typical caramel malts and fresh toast on the nose. Flavor actually has a good dose of coffee. Very nice. Caramel sweetness, more toast. This was an interesting combo, the red and the coffee. I liked it but doubtful I could handle too many due to the uniqueness.

Great red ale. Easy to drink with a hint of sweetness but not overpowering.
