A big, bold Black IPA that boasts a strong hop profile and, thanks to a heavy dose of dark roasted malts, an equally impressive malt backbone. The coffee and chocolate notes are balanced out by a pleasant citrus and pine hop character giving way to a clean finish.

Pours an effervescent chestnut/mahogany with a thumb+ of tight tan head. Very nice head retention & lacing

S: Very roasty, some pine, a touch of chicory late

Follows the nose, some Baker's Chocolate, a little dryness up front. A little chicory coffee as this beer warms up, more roastyness & more pine, some cocoa on the fringes as this warms up. Finishes a little dry, piney with roastyness & chicory

MF: Medium body, fairly creamy carbonation, nice balance

Drinks fairly easy, solid take on the style

Drekker Igor's Horn Black IPA, 5.7% ABV. Pours black with a 5+ finger light-brown head that left lots of lacing. Aroma is roast malt, hops, spice, underlying sweetness. Flavor follows, quite bitter, no sweetness. Pine trees on the afterburp. Decent mouthfeel overall excellent.

Can. 5.7%. Tan head. Dark brown color. Nearing black.

Not the best black ipa. Not a bad beer, just not what I expect a black ipa to taste like. More roasted and malts than hops. Some floral and resin. Caramel and a bit of roast/char. Light for a black ipa.

A - Dark brown-black body, mostly opaque, with reddish brown highlights, light tan head. Tiny line lacing.

S - Strong hop hit, pine and a touch of mint with molasses and malty bread notes.

T - Follows the nose, a bit of umami smokiness, coffee, hop grassiness with coffee bitterness.

M - Moderate weight, stickiness on the tongue, resin and a lingering build of weight.

O - I love black IPAs, and this is a bonkers big version of the style. Super tasty.

16oz can. Bottom date stamp is 'CANNED ON 08/08/24'.
Very dark brown colored body with a dark cherry back lit edge. Thick beige head settles back to a full and fluffy cap. Leaves behind partial walls of lacing.
Aroma is a mix of roasted caramel malts and pine resin hops. Some chocolate also.
Taste has a hint of smoke, with flavors of molasses malt and pine resin. Bits of coffee and chocolate. More malts than hops.
Slightly thinner than medium mouthfeel with a creamy texture. More bitter and less sweet. Very good carbonation.
Flavor profile is a little thin and gets bitter through the glass.

From what I remember my favorite of the year round options at the brewery. Really nothing to say, just a solid Cascadian dark!!
