Long Haired Freaky People is our newest double IPA and our latest deep dive into a single hop that we just can’t get enough of. This one is brewed with all Vic Secret so it brings huge citrus, pineapple, passionfruit & stone fruit aromas that carry right into the flavor until you get hit with a nice, balanced bitterness.

Good 2x NE ipa w/nice mouthfeel; medium hoppiness; a citrusy/herbal/fruityish-kinda/what-IS-that-I'm-tasting flavor (maybe from the spelt & oats?) & a slightly sweet, resiny backend. Smooth yet every bit it's strong 8.2%er. An acquired taste for sure.

16oz can poured into a La Fin du Monde tulip
p- cloudy light orange w/ a 1f white head
n- medium nose of lactose sugars, banana, peach, and stone fruit; pleasant and inviting
t- follows nose in the forward; peach and lactose along with light-med citrus over hearty biscuity malt; balanced sweetness; pithy finish with some yeastiness and med alcohol heat; some bitter vegetal greenness lingers in aftertaste; nicely-done profile w/ a dynamic spectrum of flavors
mf- full-bodied w/ med-high carb; milkshake-like w/ some chewiness
o- a likable hazy dipa; enjoyed this one quite a bit more than Pizza Toots (which I had about a week prior to this one)

Long-Haired Freaky People pours a hazy, orangish color with a long-lasting, more giant lacing head. The aroma is weak, but nice cantaloupe notes. The flavor is sweeter, fruit notes of cantaloupe and passionfruit come through, a mild bitterness throughout to help balance this flavorful beer. Good feel. Overall, this is a sweeter, hazy beer with great big melon flavors.

Purchased a can of this beer at the local grocery store. Interesting can art.
Poured into a tulip glass. Creamy, hazy yellow color with nice white head and good curtain lacing. Smell and taste of tropical fruit. Pineapple, mango, vanilla, hint of coconut. Nice silky feel. Enjoyable beer!

L-Pours a dusty, yellow orange juice colored body with a lacy and foamy head. Subtle carbonation throughout.
S-Fruity. Sweet. Piney. Grassy. A mix of papaya, orange, pineapple, and mango fruit punch. Some notes of honey as well. Earthiness throughout.
T- Follows the nose. A nice meld of genuine citrusy and tropical fruit flavors. Notes of honey and very slight vanilla. Malty sweet followed by a bitter and piny bite with even some bourbon boozeyness towards the end (8.2 abv so knew there would be some). Some nice earthiness backbones this beer.
F-Creamy and medium bodied with enough carbonation to keep the beer alive.
O-Overall a really solid NE IPA. I know how trendy and popular these beers are now, and although I'm not the biggest fan of the continuous replication of this style, the packaging peaked my curiosity and I gave in. Glad I gave it a try. I would have again, and I'm looking forward to trying more of their beers.

Pours a hazy orange creamsicle color with a thick long lasting white cap. Nice lacing. Aroma is a mix of tropical and citrus fruits, too many to name. Flavor follows the nose, sweet up front with just enough of a bitterness in the finish to balance it out. Feel is smooth and lightly carbonated. Overall, one of the better double NEIPA's I've had the pleasure to have sampled.

I had this beer on draft at High Side in Fairfax, VA on 8/14/22.
L - Pours a hazy light orange color with a white head that dissipates quickly.
S - Smells slightly fruity.
T - The taste is way better than the smell, fruity with a honey like quality.
F - Medium body and carbonation.
O - Decent IPA. I don’t think I’ve had a beer strictly with Vic Secret. I’ve liked it with other hops, but I’m not a big fan of Vic Secret solo.

Canned 6/8/22 (2.5 weeks ago)
Appearance: Pours a mostly hazy (30% clarity), pale, medium orange color with a strong white head. SRM of 7. (4.00)
Aroma: Moderate aromas of orange, pineapple, mango, a strong plastic note. The nose is not appealing. (3.50)
Flavor: Moderate flavors of orange, grapefruit citrus, pineapple, passionfruit rind and then some bitter pine off the end. A little woodsy in the middle. A fruity, but then pithy and piney bitter finish. Bitter, but a citrus malt sweetness. (4.00)
Feel: Medium-bodied. Moderate carbonation. Feel is slightly prickly with a bitter pith and pine note that lingers. (4.25)
Compared to BlackStack DDH Dad Jokes 6/26/22: Pours a darker, clearer color. Milder aromas. More woodsy orange, pineapple. Less juicy citrus, pineapple, passionfruit. A stronger pine bitterness.
Overall: A decent one here. 100% Vic Secret. Nice appearance. The nose has a plastic note that is not appealing. Comes back on the flavor. I get mostly grapefruit citrus, pineapple/passionfruit rind, with a woodsy body and tingling pine notes off the end with a bit of a bitter note. Has a slight off-plastic flavor, most prominent in the nose. I like the showcase of the Vic Secret hop profile. Takes a hit on the rating because of the harshness and off-aroma on the nose. Still, it drinks well and glad I tried it. (Rating: 3.91)

Another candidate for an "IPA - NE Imperial" beer style. I poured this one from a 16 oz can into a pint glass. It featured a big foamy white head with great retention and very thick long-lasting rings of foam on the glass. The color was the usual NE IPA look of dense, light straw yellow. Aroma and taste featured mostly grapefruit but also some pineapple and other, more tart, tropical fruits. Taste was very good - one NE feature that was missing was the dank/earthy quality. I experienced little bitterness in this beer. Mouthfeel was only slightly bitter. The overall "feel" was rich and very smooth, almost like a lactose presence. There was no noticeable alcohol presence or harshness. Not a beer for hop-heads but still quite enjoyable!!!!
