Let’s talk spaghettification, folks. The list of horrors that 2020 has unleashed is getting longer and more obscure, and the possibility of all of us getting sucked into a black hole just doesn’t seem as crazy as it used to. With that, we give you The Noodle Effect, a devastatingly delicious double IPA brewed with oats, spelt, and wheat, then hopped with Belma, Vic Secret, and Hellertau Blanc. It’s super soft with huge notes of pineapple, white peach, lemon curd, all under a cannabinoid fog that holds it together as we pour over the event.

Drekker Noodle Effect DNEIPA, 8.3% ABV. Pours hazy orange with a three-finger off-white head that left great lacing. Nose is fruity, taste follows, slightly sweet, moderately bitter, no pine. Decent mouthfeel, overall very good to excellent adjacent.

I tried this off the tapper at the Rebellion Brew Haus in Moline, Illinois. It poured a hazy orangish with thin white head that left some lace. The scent had orange and citrus bittering hop notes. The taste was nicely balanced and easy to drink with semi sweet malt base with tangerine and orange presence. The mouthfeel was medium in body with good carbonation. Overall it is a great beer.

Canned 4/25/23 (1 month ago)
Appearance: Pours a completely hazy (5% clarity) extremely pale orange/yellow color with a strong white head. SRM of 6-7. (4.00)
Aroma: Strong aromas of orange, tangerine, nectarine and a peach and some berries and grape underneath.
Flavor: Strong flavors of tangerine, juicy peach, berries, grape and melon. Juicy and sweet, yet very soft.
Feel: Heavier bodied, average carbonation, smooth, sweet, yet very soft on the finish.
Compared to Drekker Night Machine 5/2023: Pours lighter, similar head. Stronger aromas. More berry, grape, and peach. Less lemon citrus, pineapple, melon. Similar sweetness but leans maltier and more carbonated and less juicy.
Overall: Pretty good haze again here. showcases the Bic Secret and Hallertau Blac to give grape and berry notes. Some peach too. Oats, spelt, and wheat give this one softness and hide the sweetness a bit. Big, heavy, yet soft and drinkable. Enjoyable. (3.79)

A fairly bland Imperial IPA. Another Candidate for a NE Imperial IPA style. Poured from a 16 oz can into a pint glass, this beer is a hazy straw yellow color with a good sized foamy white head with good retention and some lacing on the glass. The overall aroma and taste of this beer is less than robust. It is mildly bitter, a bit more malty than hoppy and a bland hops profile with a little pineapple and other tropical fruit that are just barely noticeable. Mouthfeel features very mild bitterness but is rich enough for the style and goes down easy. Alcohol presence is minimal. I have nothing against this beer, but it doesn't stand out from any of the other Imperial IPAs that I have had recently.

I enjoy the Drekker brewing Brains series, thought I would give this beer a try. I served the beer around 50 degrees in a tulip glass. The pour of the beer formed a two-fingered head with good retention. The creamy white head dissipated slowly, leaving little lacing on the glass. The color is SRM, pale straw with light golden hues. The beer is hazy. I wanted to see more lacing formation on the glass. Not sure if there is a correlation between the lasting head and lacing formation. The beer is beautiful.
Initial aromas I sense are guava, mangos, pineapple, and mandarin. Next, I smell toasted malts, biscuit, grapefruit, a touch of pine needles, floral, and bay leaves. Lastly, I detect honey, a hint of soap, straw, and earthiness.
I taste toasted malts, honey, grapefruit, pineapple, peaches, oranges, mandarins, floral, herbal, straw, cut grass, earthiness, and lemons.
The mouthfeel is slick, coating, and astringent.
The body of the beer is medium-plus, medium carbonation, and a fuller finish.
I smelt a note of dish soap; the mouthfeel was slick and oily. A load of hops is in this beer. I am not a fan of this hop combination. It has an odd spicy hop flavor that I do not like either. I am not a fan of this beer.

Can. Hazy golden orange color. White head with lace.
Juicy, tropical, dank. A great blend of juice and weedy, floral hops. NE meets some great west coast dank which is why I like drekker so much. Their ipas still taste like ipas. This is solid.

L: Poured from a tallboy can to a snifter glass. Had a pale yellow color and an extremely cloudy consistency. There was a quarter inch of foamy, somewhat long-lasting head. Above average lacing.
S: A very nice aroma of tropical fruit, hops, malt, citrus fruit, and peaches.
T: Tasted of a small amount of malt (mostly in the finish; not a big factor), some citrus fruit (orange and especially lemon), a bit of peach (sweet, but not overdone), lots of hops (a dominant feature, but not overly bitter), and a good amount of tropical fruit (pineapple, in particular). A well-formed, balanced, and easy to like flavor.
F: A good amount of carbonation with a smooth and soft finish. Medium-bodied.
O: A super solid and tasty DIPA. Drinkable.

A: The beer is very hazy to cloudy whitish yellow in color. It poured with a short white head that left a narrow collar around the edge of the glass.
S: Light to moderate aromas of honeydew melon, peaches and pine are present in the nose.
T: The taste follows the smell and has additional notes of lemongrass and stronger hints of pine. There is a light amount of bitterness.
M: It feels medium-bodied, juicy and smooth on the palate with a moderate amount of carbonation.
O: I found the taste of this IPA to be rather complex and easy to drink.
